1. Scope of This Privacy Policy
This Privacy Policy applies to the Saisons mobile application and related features provided within the app.
Saisons is a local-first personal archive designed to help users organize years, record seasonal events, attach photos and notes, optionally record voice memos, and create short films from their own records.
This Policy describes how information is handled when you use Saisons, including information stored on your device, information accessed through optional device permissions, and information associated with Apple In-App Purchase transactions.
2. Information We Handle
2.1 Information You Create in Saisons
Depending on the features you use, you may create or add information such as:
- Years and seasonal archive records;
- Season activation and organization preferences;
- Event titles and notes;
- Ratings and other archive metadata;
- Photos you capture or choose to attach;
- Optional voice memos;
- Generated Season Films, Year Recaps, and Highlights Reels;
- Other information you intentionally add to your personal archive.
2.2 Information From Apple Purchase Services
When you purchase a consumable Points pack, the transaction is processed by Apple through Apple's In-App Purchase system. Saisons may receive purchase-related information necessary for the app to determine whether a transaction was completed and to credit the corresponding Points within the app.
Payment card details are not entered into or stored by Saisons.
2.3 Automatically Generated App Data
The app may create local technical data necessary for normal operation, such as local preferences, feature state, Points balance records, render state, or other information required to provide the app's functionality.
3. Local-First Storage
Saisons does not require you to create an account or sign in to use its core archive and film features.
Your user-created archive records and associated content are designed to remain in the app's local storage environment on your iPhone unless you choose to export or share content yourself.
The app does not provide a built-in live social network, public user profile system, user-to-user messaging service, or cloud account system for your personal archive.
You are responsible for managing your device and any device-level backup, transfer, export, or sharing options that may affect your content outside the app.
4. Device Permissions
Saisons requests certain device permissions only when you choose to use the corresponding functionality. You may allow or decline these permissions, subject to the operating system's permission controls.
4.1 Notifications
Saisons may request permission to send notifications when the app is first launched. If permission is granted, notifications may be used for app-related reminders or other device notifications supported by the version of Saisons you are using.
Notification permission is optional. Declining notification permission does not prevent you from using the core archive or film features.
4.2 Camera
Camera access may be requested when you select a feature such as taking a photo while creating or editing an event. Camera access is requested when you actively choose that functionality.
4.3 Photo Library
Photo Library access may be requested when you choose to attach photos from your library to an event or select source material for a film.
Saisons accesses photo content for the feature you choose to use and does not require Photo Library access merely to browse other parts of the app.
4.4 Microphone
Microphone access may be requested when you choose to record a voice memo for an event. If permission is granted, audio is recorded only when you use the recording feature.
4.5 Adding Finished Films to Photos
When you choose to save a completed film to your device's Photos library, the operating system may request permission necessary to add that content to your library.
You can manage granted permissions through the applicable device settings provided by iOS.
5. On-Device Film Creation
Saisons can create short films from records and media that you select. Available film styles may include:
- Season Film;
- Year Recap;
- Highlights Reel.
Film rendering is designed to occur on your device. Your selected archive records and source media are not uploaded to a Saisons-operated server merely because you create a film.
Generated films may remain within the app unless you choose to save, export, or share them.
6. App Tracking Transparency and IDFA
Saisons may present Apple's App Tracking Transparency permission request after the app has been launched and after a short delay.
Allowing tracking is optional. You are not required to grant tracking permission to create archives, add events, attach media, record voice memos, purchase Points, or render films.
If tracking permission is denied, the core functionality of Saisons remains available.
Where the app or its authorized technology uses Apple's advertising identifier or engages in tracking as defined by Apple, such use is subject to the permission and disclosure requirements applicable to the version of the app and iOS you are using.
You can manage tracking preferences through your device settings where supported by iOS.
7. Points and In-App Purchases
Saisons offers optional consumable Points packs through Apple's In-App Purchase system. Available packs may include:
- Season Seed — $0.99;
- Season Pack — $2.99;
- Season Reserve — $9.99;
- Season Studio — $19.99;
- Season Vault — $49.99;
- Season Archive — $99.99.
Prices may vary by country, region, currency, applicable taxes, or changes made through Apple's App Store.
Points are consumable digital items used for supported on-device film rendering features. The app may provide the first eligible Season Film render at no Points cost. Additional supported renders may require Points, including:
- Season Film — 100 Points;
- Highlights Reel — 100 Points;
- Year Recap — 250 Points.
There is no subscription associated with these consumable Points packs.
Because Points are consumable and device-local, previously consumed Points cannot be restored. A device-local Points balance may also be unavailable after deletion of the app or loss of the applicable local app data.
The availability of Apple's purchase history, transaction records, refunds, or other purchase-related information is governed by Apple and the applicable App Store processes.
9. Children's Privacy
Saisons does not require a user account and is not designed as a service for collecting personal profile information from children.
If you are responsible for a child using the app, you should supervise the child's use of device permissions, media, purchases, exports, and sharing features as appropriate.
Apple and device-level parental controls may also be available to manage purchases and other device functionality.
10. Security
Saisons is designed to keep personal archive content local to your device by default. However, no application, device, storage system, export process, or operating system can guarantee absolute security.
You are responsible for protecting access to your iPhone, maintaining appropriate device security settings, and exercising care when exporting or sharing personal content.
11. Data Retention and Deletion
Local archive data is generally retained on your device for as long as it remains stored within the app, unless you edit or delete it.
You may delete individual records or other supported content using available app controls. Deleting the app or clearing its local data may remove device-local archive content and device-local Points records, subject to the behavior of iOS and any backup or restoration mechanisms outside the direct control of Saisons.
If you have exported or shared content outside the app, deleting the original content from Saisons does not necessarily delete copies held by another app, service, recipient, device backup, or destination you selected.
12. Changes to This Privacy Policy
This Privacy Policy may be updated from time to time to reflect changes to Saisons, applicable legal requirements, Apple platform requirements, or the ways in which information is handled.
When changes are made, the "Last updated" date at the top of this page may be revised. Continued use of the app after an updated Policy becomes effective is subject to the updated Policy to the extent permitted by applicable law.
